The summer and fall are perfect times to update your family photos. I could not imagine living in a better place than Michigan to take photographs. The Michigan lakeshore holds a special place in my heart and whenever families or couples would like to head to any of the beautiful beaches for their sessions I get so excited. The Roan family chose Grand Haven to update their family photos with their newest addition to their family. The cuteness was on overload and I definitely got in my baby fix with Baby Emery.
If you are looking for late/summer of fall sessions please message me on Facebook or click the inquiry tab and complete the form. August is closed for session and I am now scheduling for September and October family sessions. I knew from the moment I met with Emma and Sheldon last summer that they were the most joyful couple in all of West Michigan. Their images reflect just that. The joy that they share when with each other is contagious. Sheldon is patience and thoughtful; but he is also fiercely in love with Emma and adores everything about her. Emma is stunning and her joy beams from her constant smile and laughter.
I was so blessed to capture their intimate wedding in Hudsonville, MI at the Old Wooden Barn. We had access to many beautiful locations on their property, and to be honest, the perfect sunset and weather added to the amazing portraits for this wedding. There are many barn wedding venues in Grand Rapids, MI but I have to see I think the Old Wooden Barn may be one of my favorites. I am so happy that the warm summer is hear because it adds amazing sunsets and light throughout the summer wedding season.
Thank you to all of Emma and Sheldon's friends and family that welcomed me upon arrival and treated me like family throughout the day. As a photographer, it means the world when guests spark up a conversation and thank me for being apart of the day. I hope you enjoy some of my favorite images from Emma and Sheldon's day. Cheers!
I am still booking for fall 2019 dates and all of 2020 please inquire above if you are still looking for a wedding photographer. I would love to talk to you about making your wedding day the most special day of your life and watching your vision come true behind my lens.
Alice and Joe were wed in Holland, MI during Tulip Time which is one of the most beautiful times in the city. Tulip Time is celebrated in May every year and during this celebration the citizens of Holland celebrate their rich heritage in Dutch traditions.
Alice and Joe were marred the Central Park Chapel on the south end of Lake Macatawa and celebrated their reception at City Flats Hotel in downtown. We enjoyed a fun intimate wedding with all their friends that love dancing.
I hope you two are loving married life and thank you for including me in your beautiful wedding day.
When I met with Jon and Taylor last summer to take their engagement photos I instantly got excited for their April wedding. As we began our appointment we sipped on Bell's Oberon and began constructing their wedding timeline. Jon informed me that his large family was Catholic and Polish... suddenly their was a sparkle in my eye! I come from a very large Catholic, and Polish family and I already knew what those adjectives meant... lots of fun!
As I pulled into St. Robert's in Ada, Mi and was greeted by family and friends I instantly felt at home. As their Catholic Mass concluded their were many hugs and loud conversation in the vestibule. I knew that once we arrived at Noto's to begin their reception, their would be the best celebration waiting for us. Jon and Taylor had a stunning 5 tiered wedding cake and decedent dinner for their guests.
During their reception the drinks flowed and we partook in the Polish Grand March - which I had only ever seen at one other wedding. Needless to say Jon and Taylor's wedding was full of family, laughter and fun. As you enjoy some of my favorite images you will notice that the smiles don't leave their faces from the moment I arrive and well after I left. Also, thank you to all their family and friends that welcomed me and made sure that I didn't leave without a hug. Cheers Jon and Taylor and I hope you are loving married life!
Hannah and Bryan have been married for 6 months already! Their intimate, brunch wedding in downtown Grand Rapids was the perfect Saturday celebration for their closest family and friends. I mean who can say no to bacon, pancakes, and a wedding??
Hannah and Bryan met at 8th Day gym and from there they grew incredibly found of each other while working out and also getting to know each other outside of the gym. Since moving to the west side of Michigan, Downtown Grand Rapids is slowly growing on me and I must admit I am falling in love with the city a little bit eve3ry day. The 100 degree weather this week is causing me to sweat a little more than the usual so I thought I would reminisce a little about this chilly January wedding - but I refuse to complain about the warmth because I LOVE hot summers.
Cheers to Hannah and Bryan and I hope you are loving married life!

All this cold weather and ice has me thinking about summer weddings and the sun. Being a wedding photographer in Grand Rapids, Michigan is slightly gloomy from November through March. Days are short, cloudy and very snowy. I am a summer girl so I am counting down the days until April when the sun peaks out a little more.
Today I decided to share Alyse and Steven on the blog. They tied the knot together last August in Bay City, Michigan. We spent the morning together at Salon Nuveau in the downtown area of Bay City before the ceremony. Alyse and Steven have a large friend group and their bridal party was full of life as they supported Alyse and Steven throughout the day. Alyse and Steven celebrated the night with meaningful toasts, great drinks and tons of dancing at Lumber Barons for their reception. I can't wait for more couples to get married this year and would love to connect with you if you are recently engaged.

Engagement session is upon us and many couples are buying rings, planning proposals and wondering how they are going to select the ideal venue to say, "I do." A photographer should be one of the first things that you are considering. When seeking a photographer it is important to keep in mind what parts of your wedding day you would like to have photographed.
You should also think about your timeline, if you would like a first look with your fiancé and approximately what your budget will be. All of these things will give you a clear idea of your expectations and also what kind of experience you are looking for a photographer to give you on your special day. I also always connect with my couples in person or over video chat first. We get a time to drink coffee and talk about your vision for your day. It is important for me to connect on a personal level and hear what your specific needs are and what is important to you. As a potential client, I always want my couples to feel really good about choosing me for their special day and feel comfortable asking any questions they may have.
I am finally getting caught up on blogging some of my sessions from this summer and fall. Sheldon and Emma are high school sweethearts and will be getting married this upcoming year in Hudsonville, MI. Their engagement session was full of laughs and they naturally just fell into each other's arms during our session and made my job so easy! We started their engagement in downtown Holland, MI to get a few formal images and then chased the sun to a local Lake Michigan beach for a breathtaking few and a beach to ourselves.
Sheldon and Emma were up for anything to be able to get amazing images, which is a photographer's dream. When I suggested getting into the 30 degree water they agreed! We all got into the water and captured beautiful images as the sunset over Lake Michigan. I can't wait to capture Emma and Sheldon's wedding this summer and be by their side as they say I do.
If you are recently engaged I would love to connect with you and find time to get together and talk about your special day.
